Elizabeth Farrell is a lacrosse player and marching band member from Durant High School. Challenged to achieve goals she thought were impossible, Elizabeth works to become an exemplary leader for her team. "Hard work, perseverance, and dedication are just a normal part of my everyday existence as an athlete and student. Something important I’ve learned is that there may be a competitor who is better than me. While some would find this disheartening, it is my inspiration and motivation to make me work more diligently to compete against others at a higher level. I strive to be better than I was yesterday, not to be better than someone else."
Elizabeth’s coach uses the word 'competitor' when describing her. “Beth is a competitor in every sense of the word. She is constantly working to improve herself not only as a player but as a person. She is what every coach hopes for in a player-- hard working, team player, selfless to a fault. Beth is a mentor to our younger players, sacrificing her free time for the benefit of the team and her teammates. Her impact on our program will be felt by this program for years to come as some of the younger player she has been mentoring are already demonstrating the same traits and work ethic she puts forth on a daily basis.”
