He understands what this is all about: the relationships he has formed with his teammates and coaches. Khalib is a quality human being, one that has made the Berkeley baseball program better on and off the field. No matter the challenge, Khalib is always willing to approach the opportunity with discipline and courage. He is always willing to learn from others, including his teammates. He never ceases trying to be the best he can be. Khalib plays the game by giving his full effort and heart every time he puts on the Berkeley uniform. But it is rare for a player to put his heart and SOUL into everything he does...that’s Khalib. He is selfless – it is never about him, it is always about US. Khalib has a contagious smile and an innate ability to lead without having to say much. He is a coach's dream because I can look at him and show the younger guys in our program this is what I want you to become. He is an honest young man that respects the game, his opponent, teammate, and coaches. He is the heartbeat of Berkeley baseball.”
