PCA-Los Angeles Named “Official Training Partner” Of LA84 Foundation

06.22.2016

With a grant from the LA84 Foundation, PCA-Los Angeles becomes their “Official Training Partner” charged with delivering coach education for LA84 grantees. PCA-LA has been presenting Double-Goal Coach Workshops since March for a variety of youth sports organizations including Parks and Rec, YMCA’s, Boys & Girls Clubs, Dodgers RBI, Beyond the Bell, LA’s Best and more. Sports range from soccer, basketball and baseball to aquatics, equestrian and boxing.

“As LA84 begins its next chapter, we are looking to make an even bigger impact on youth development through sport,” said LA84 Foundation President & CEO Renata Simril. “We are so pleased that this partnership will allow us to scale our coaching training, which is integral to the success of the sport programs our grantees run. Sport anchored by experienced coaches has the power to create a lasting positive impact on a child’s life, and we are inspired by the PCA team, who embody the values that have encouraged our organization to give back to our communities since the 1984 Olympic Games.”

PCA-Los Angeles workshops continue throughout the year and have already trained more than 800 coaches, reaching roughly 12,000 youth athletes.
