Stephen Minix

Executive Director, UpMetrics

Stephen Minix is the Executive Director of UpMetrics.  In less than 2 years he has helped to grow this once small startup into a formidable activity management platform responsible for professionalizing the practice of administering after school, athletic and community based recreation programs with over 500 school and community based organizations across the globe. As ED, Stephen manages UpMetric’s staff expansion in offices from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and London.

The skill sets needed for success as the Executive Director of SportUp were cultivated in many previous roles.  Stephen has dedicated his life’s work to the belief that all children deserve an excellent education inclusive of access to both sports and enrichment that enhance college and career readiness while also promoting a healthy, fulfilling life. Stephen’s love of athletics began early as he excelled in wrestling, baseball and basketball and continues today as he fosters a love of sports in his two young daughters.

Since 2002, Stephen has served youth in Los Angeles’ public schools, most notably at Locke High School (LAUSD, Green Dot Public Schools) as a teacher, a varsity coach, an athletic director, a high-school administrator, and as the Green Dot district coordinator for athletic and afterschool programs which had Minix overseeing 24 schools in three states.

As a CIF Los Angeles Board of Managers member, CIF State advisory member, CIF LA City Section Athletics Coliseum league commissioner, CIF Los Angeles Board of Managers Games Committee chair, and Athletic director advisory member he has been recognized as the CIF LA City Section Athletic Director of the Year in 2015 and the Norm Mackenzie Rookie of the Year Winner in 2012.

Stephen graduated from Pepperdine with a BS in Physical Education and MA in Secondary Education.
