Damian Goderich, Brandon Elite Volleyball Association and Bloomingdale High School, Wins Positive Coaching Alliance-Tampa Bay’s Regional Double-Goal Coach® Award

03.02.2020

March 2020, Tampa, FL – Damian Goderich, volleyball coach at Brandon Elite Volleyball Association (BEVA) and Bloomingdale High School, is one of five Regional Winners for Positive Coaching Alliance-Tampa Bay’s Double-Goal Coach® Awards presented for his positive impact on youth in sports.

The Double-Goal Coach® Awards recognize coaches who strive to win while also pursuing the important goal of teaching life lessons through sports. The chapter award includes a certificate, two tickets to a Tampa Bay Lightning game, a suite to a Tampa Bay Rays game, and recognition within the websites and newsletters of Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), a national non-profit developing Better Athletes, Better People through youth and high school sports.

Victoria Rudolph is a player on BEVA’s Gold team and nominated Goderich for this award. “Coach Damian focuses tremendously on the importance of continuously learning,” said Rudolph. “He will never let a player plateau or reach a point where they can no longer improve.” Rudolph recently signed and committed to further her volleyball and academic career at Roberts Wesleyan College.

Parent of Victoria and co-owner of Brandon Elite Volleyball Association, Tricia Rudolph, agrees. She said the club was built upon “Coach Damian’s ideals that every player is important and should be supported in their growth and learning.”

Carlos Mungaray is another parent who believes Coach Damian takes a mastery approach to the sport by “teaching not only the skills of volleyball, but how to be an overall respectful athlete on and off the court. He coaches with pride and the dedication he puts forth can be seen at every practice and every game.”

Goderich began his coaching career fifteen years ago in Miami and has coached girls and boys’ volleyball, basketball and football. He has been the director of BEVA for two years and also teaches physical education at Bloomingdale High School.

“We are excited to honor Damian Goderich and we are thankful for what he is doing in our community,” said Mason Cathey Brady, Executive Director of PCA-Tampa Bay, the local Chapter of Positive Coaching Alliance. “Please help us in congratulating him as a Regional Chapter winner!”

Positive Coaching Alliance will name twenty-five (25) National Double-Goal Coach® recipients, each of whom will receive $1,000 and two (2) tickets to the National Youth & Sports Awards in California in April 2020.
