06.10.2019

On Wednesday, May 29, PCA-SF Bay Area hosted their 11th annual Triple Impact Competitor Scholarships and Awards Dinner at Levi's Stadium, home of the 49ers. Management of the 49ers, led by owner Dr. John York and President Al Guido hosted the dinner, which attracted 250 guests. We celebrated the accomplishments of, and awarded scholarships to, 15 Bay Area TIC winners, who exemplified PCA's goal of building "Better Athletes, Better People."

This year’s Triple Impact Competitor® Scholarships Winners include:

Jadon Bosage - Kamiah Brown - Kiernan Dunn - Aditya George - Ana Gabriella Gutierrez - Rachel Huynh - Dylan Joyce - Gabe Leary - Zaira Ramirez - Jingmin Ruan - Makayla Scott - Connor Smith - Alexis Stull - Kaila Uota - James Wright

"Our 15 Triple Impact Competitor winners represent the breadth and diversity of the Bay Area and the reach and impact of our Bay Area chapter,” says Mike Mowery, PCA-SF Bay Area Executive Director. “They excel in sports as varied as wrestling, tennis, dance, swimming, golf, cheer, and cross country, as well as football, basketball, baseball, soccer and volleyball. After hearing from them tonight, you will leave with your Emotional Tanks overflowing!"

This year, PCA-SF Bay Area honored the youth sports development achievements of Dr. John York and Mr. Al Guido. Keiana Martin, the event’s Master of Ceremonies participated in a “fireside chat” with both Dr. York and Mr. Guido discussing the 49ers’ support of youth sports and comparing/contrasting PCA principles vs. their approach for building their team and franchise.

Keiana also led a Q&A with PCA President, Tina Syer. She covered her 19 years with PCA, PCA challenges now, and tips and tools for athletes, coaches and parents.

We also presented our Humanitarian Award to the San Francisco Police Activities League for their promotion and support of youth sports. We also honored John Lynch, the 49ers’ General Manager with the "Excellence in Leadership" award, and our 4 Bay Area Double Goal Coach® winners received their awards: Jorge Chen, Doug Leresche, Dave King, Dave Winn.

A special thanks to new chapter board co-chairs, Ross Revenaugh and Ken Lombardi for their great energy and commitment in helping organize support and attendance for the event.  Also, thank you to all of our sponsors and donors for making this event possible. We are grateful for all of you who attended for joining us in celebrating this year’s scholarship and award winners and supporting Positive Coaching Alliance.
