Triple-Impact Competitor® Finalist, Class of 2016
Manatee High School
Bradenton, FL
Lorenz Allen is a football player from Manatee High School. He makes his work count by putting in the time and the care. “How I make myself better is by putting in hard work in what I want to get better at doing. I try to learn from my mistakes and not make the same mistake again. I don’t smoke, use drugs, or drink alcohol. I try to stay healthy and eat the right foods. I strive for success and I don’t accept being a failure. I’m very competitive and I stay focused on any task that I am doing. I’m in the weight room through out the week each month so that I can get the best results. I DON’T give up. If I don’t get something right the first time, I keep trying until I do.”
Lorenz’s coach uses the word word coachable when describing Lorenz. “Lorenz is a very hard worker on the field, in the weight room, and in the classroom. He makes it a priority to be the very best he can be in all areas. This spring he was asked to change positions to fill in for a player that was not allowed to participate in spring practices. Although this was a tough decision, since the spring going into a player’s senior season is big for recruiting, Lorenz did not hesitate in saying he would do it. And not only did he do it, he had a very coachable attitude, and was committed to being the best he could possibly be. That sacrifice tells me all I need to know about the character, leadership and self-sacrifice that Lorenz posses to make himself and team better. He is a great kid with a great personality and our players gravitate to him. He is an absolute pleasure to coach.”
